Easdale, Scotland, UK. 29 Sept 2013. A judge measures competitors stones must be no more than 3 inches in diameter and formed naturally of Easdale 300 competitors from around the world gathered on the Scottish Island of Easdale to compete for the World Stone Skimming Cup. Competitors are allowed thee skims using slate stones especially selected from the islands once thriving slate quarries. The championships are held every year on the last Sunday in September.
