WEEBER & DON. VEGETABLE SEEDS. 23 ONION SEED. German, Zwiebel.—French, Oignon.—Spanish, Gebolla. One ounce will sow 100 feet of drill. For onion culture the ground should be prepared the previous autumn by ploughing or spading deeply, using plenty of well-rotted barn-yard manure. A rather strong, deep, rich, loamy soil is considered most suitable, although we have seen splendid crops raised upon a stiff clay soil, which was well under-drained. When the young plants are strong enough thin out to four inches apart. Keep the surface of the ground open and free from weeds by hoeing frequently. Extra Early Elat Red.
