An officer's parade sword,end of the 18th century. Beautiful triangular thrusting blade with etched and gilded martial trophies and vines on a blued background. Inscribed "PDL"(for Lüneschloss,Solingen)on the base of the blade. Profiled brass knucklebow hilt with most of the fire-gilding preserved. Pommel with floral decoration. Silver wire winding with silver braided ferrules. Leather scabbard with later white lacquer,and brass mountings with remnants of gilding.
