DWARF SWEET PEAS. â New Pink Cupid.âThis superb sort, like the White Cupid, originated in California. It is not a sport from White Cupid, as cne would suppose, but an actual departure from its parent, Blanche Ferry; has no tendency to climb, but branches out from a foot to eighteen inches around, and from six to eight inches high, shooting up stems about six to eight inches long, which bloom at once and have from three to four large flowers each, all close to the end of the stem. The standard of the flower is rose-pink, while the wings are pure white or light pink. This Sweet Pea is easily grown; seeds germi- nate very easily, and it is sure to give satisfaction. It is of dwarf habit, growing only five inches in height, showing no tendency to climb, and spreading out so as to completely fill a twelve-inch pot, the flower stems growing about four inches in length, each stem having two to three flowers, all opening at the same time ; flowers pure white; the plant com- pletely covered with flowering shoots. It is an exceptionally free bloomer, beginning to flower in May and continuing until October, which makes it equally desirable for borders, bedding in masses, or for cut flowers.
