BASKETWORK OF SOUTHERN AFRICA 143 Seizing and whipping Great use is made of various types of wrapping—seizing (777, Fig. 75E),whipping (112, Fig. 75F), and woven figure-of-eight seizing (113, Fig. 76A). Thismay be seen on broom-ends, spoon handles and beer-strainers. Sometimes twomethods of finishing are combined (Fig. 75D, F).
