The storm beach at Cley breached by severe storms which will only increase with sea level rise.

Much of the North Norfolk coast around Cley is protected by a shingle storm beach. Climate change is driving both sea level rise and increased stormy weather, leading to a great incidence of storms breaching the shinlge barrier. In the past, the council used buldozers to rebuild the shingle barrier, but have now abandoned it. This shot shows where the shingle barrier has been breached by a recent storm.
