The Passage Verdeau is the last of the Grand Boulevards after Passage Panoramas and Jouffroy. Built in 1847 and named after its creator it is full of antique dealers and postcards shops. The Parisian covered passages were built between the late 18th century and the mid-19th century in order to house shops and restaurants. These arcades covered with glass roofs connecting two streets were an architectural innovation at that time. From the 150 galleries that existed in 1850 only 20 remain nowadays. Each passage has its own special character and they have become a typical Parisian feature.
