Pill woodlice. View of several pill woodlice, Armadillidium vulgare. Woodlice are small terrestrial crustaceans of the order Isopoda. They have a segmented, oval, somewhat flattened body and are able to roll themselves into a ball when threatened. They live in moist environments, under stones and bark and in decaying vegetation and feed on decaying plant and animal matter. Pill woodlice are distributed worldwide.
