The entrance to Astro Noise, Laura Poitras' first solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City as it was previewed to the press on February 3, 2016. Poitras, a filmmaker, artist and journalist best known for helping to break the Edward Snowden story, created the exhibition as an immersive multimedia experience examining topics such as mass surveillance, the war on terror, the Drone Program, Guantanamo Bay Prison, occupation and torture. Some of these topics have been investigated in films including CITIZENFOUR, which won the 2015 Academy Award for Best Documentary, and in her reporting which won the Pulitzer Prize.
