Brightly orange Aloe ferox flowers with plenty nectar attracting sunbirds, weavers and argentinian ants. Flowers mid-winter on mountain slopes of South Eastern Cape, Lesotho and Kwa Zulu Natal. Hardy tree grows 2 to 3 meters high.
