Soldiers in the Bedfordshire Imperial Yeomanry (BIY) getting washed after exercises in 1913. The wash stand is set up in a field and a steam engine driven piece of farm machinery can be seen in the background. Several soldiers are washing or towelling themselves, whilst others are standing by, looking at the camera. The photograph was taken the year before the outbreak of the First World War, in or around Thurning, near Oundle, Northamptonshire.
