A small group of protesters gathered outside the offices of Glencore Xstrata in Mayfair and later At Anglo American's HQ in St James and BHP Billiton in Victoria. They were protesting against plans by British owned consortium Cerrejon Coal to evict peasant farmers in the Columbian village of Roche, to make way for the expansion of the vast El Cerrejon open cast coal mine. The eviction was to take place on August 29th but pressure groups have managed to cause a postponement.
