It is probable that the areas of the West Towers were once open to theNave and Aisles ; but that on the south is now excluded by the monuments ofCaptain James Cornewall and Mr. Secretary Craggs, and that on the northpartly closed by an iron railing and the monument of Sir Godfrey Towers nearly correspond in their internal architecture, though not intheir appropriation ; the South Tower being used as the Consistory Court, andChapel for Morning Prayers, whilst the North Tower is principally occupiedby the monument of Captain Montague.
