Council Grove, Kansas - The emblem of the Kaw Nation in Allegawaho Memorial Heritage Park. The park is being developed by the Kaw, or Kanza, tribe, for which the state of Kansas is named. Members of the tribe are working to reestablish their Kansas heritage, which was lost when they were forcibly removed to Oklahoma in1873. On the hill is a monument to an Unknown Kanza Warrior.
