He took this photograph from the Rijksmuseum’s western middle tower in the direction of the Leidseplein. Where Heinen saw the House of Detention – Anne Frank would later be imprisoned there – is now a casino. What was once the Church of the Free Congregation now houses Paradiso, a music venue and night club since 1968.
