Wild boar Ogoh-Ogoh statue exhibition. Ogoh-Ogoh in the form of a Wild Boar ready for the Ngrupuk Parade on the eve of Nyepi (Balinese New Year) also known as the Day of Silence. These giant demons are symbolic and created for the purification of the natural environment of any spiritual pollutants. During the Ngrupuk Parade these are supported on a grid of Bamboo poles which gives room for men who carry them around the village or town and at every junction spin them counter clockwise three times which is intended to bewilder the evil spirits and scare them off.
