Gibbss building, though handfome as a diftin£tftrufture, unfortunately does not at all harmonize with the chapel: and, amongother plans for the improvement of the college, it was recommended by Mr. JamesWyatt, either to alter its external appearance, or to remove it entirely, fubfl:itutingin its place a building more in unifon with that venerable edifice, and to completethe whole with magnificent buildings in a correfponding ftyle. Mr. Wyatts de-figns are at the provofts lodge, but nothing has been determined either as to theplan of the building or the time of its commencement.
