Colmar Canal in the region of Alsace Lorraine in France

Colmar is a town in the Grand Est - Alsace region of northeastern France near the border with Germany and ownership of the region has been passed back and forth between the two countries over the years. And the result is a unique mix of their two cultures – think of it as France with a twist. Its old town has cobblestone streets lined with half-timbered medieval and early Renaissance buildings and Canals. The city is on the Alsace Wine Route and local vineyards specialize in Riesling and Gewürztraminer wines.
