Thetools consist of one piece of cast orwrought iron A, thickness over K to be1/16 in. less than the thinnest locomo-tive frame, so that rocker boxes oflarger engines can be bored on sametool; they should be some 3 or 4 and 10 ins. long. Two sleeves orIjushings, D, of same length, to beplaced between A and the faceplate asat L, with 4-)4 ins. or 4J-^-in. belts, forfastening both .\ and rocker box. The rocker box after being boltedtogether is placed on A, and end B isset for boring; no attention is paid toend C, as it will follow in line. Thebox must, however, be forced against.\ at E; this will insure box to besquare when placed on frame after bor-
