Whitfield leads chasing triathletes: Vancouver World Championships 2008


Simon Whitfield won the first Olympic gold medal for the triathlon in Sydney in 2000 and was placed second in the Beijing Olympics of 2008 having been outsprinted by Jan Frodeno (Germany) in the final stretch. On this occasion he finished in 6th place behind Javier Gomez, Bevan Docherty, Reto Hug, Hendrik De Villiers and Matthew Reed. Igor Sysoev and Tony Moulai finished in 7th and 8th places respectively.
