Japanese American Society volunteers assist American children with Mochitsuki, or rice pounding, to make mochi during the 61st Iwakuni Annual Culture Festival in Iwakuni City, Japan, March 17, 2018. The festival showcased many traditional Japanese cultural activities and performances. The event was held off base this year with support from Iwakuni City, which allowed more Iwakuni residents to come together with the base community.
