This last series of cases comprises ten instancesof softening involving a greater or lesser area of the corticaldomain irrigated by the terminal branches of the sylvian , our personal data regarding the cortical connections of thered nucleus are based upon the examination of a series of eigh-teen cases of cerebral softening. In four of these cases, the lesions involve the first and secondtemporal convolutions and the supramarginal and angular gyri;.
