The Parish Church of St George in Ticknall
The current church was built to replace an older building. The photograph shows the west end remains of the earlier church which was dedicated to St Thomas Becket. The east end is not illustrated. In the foreground are the remains of what was probably a preaching cross. It is thought to be medieval and to have been moved to its present location in the 18th century in order to make way for buileding the row of almshouses.
