The commercial office skyscraper left centre background, at 180 Montgomery Street, was completed in 1979. The 25 storey, 98 m high (322 ft) houses the Bank of the West and other financial offices. The Transamerica Pyramid, left background, was completed in 1972. Its low centre of gravity is designed to withstand earthquake assault.
