Red brick buildings - former industrial buildings - in the city of Tampere, Finland. The Teatteri Frenkell, now a theatre, was once a paper mill. The Chimney is part of the Finlayson Complex, now an entertainment and leisure complex, formerly a textiles mill. Tampere is Scandanavia's largest inland city and, these days, renowned for its art and culture scene. The city hosts the Tampere International Theatre Festival every August. The red brick buildings and industry help explain why the city is known as "the Manchester of Finland".
