On first entering the town of Villa Grande, it is impossible to find the name of the town, as all signposts have been destroyed in the fighting. The town has no civilian population, and there is not a complete house standing. Even the few soldiers billetted in the town have found it extremely hard to find a room which has not suffered from the holocaust of war which raged in and around the town. There are a few dead animals, which increase the air of death and desolation. T
