Portofino, Genoa Province, Liguria, Italian Riviera, Italy. The buiding on the hill in the background is the house-museum Castello Brown, or Castle Brown. The site has been fortified since Roman times. The castle was bought in 1867 by the English consul in Genoa, Montague Yeats-Brown. It is now owned by the municipality.
