Snow Mountain, elevation 7,054 feet, and Monnt St. John, elevation 6,503 feet, and their slopes form nearly two-thirds of the surface area. The hiuhei- re-zions (;^,5()0 to (i,()()0 feet) are more or less densely covered with a coniferous forest. IJelow this (2,500 to .'5,500 feet) the slopes are dominated by knobcone pine (I'i)}i(s tuhcrculafa) and luan-. FIGURE 1.
