A view of the post glacial natural lake Wielki Staw (The Big Pond) seen from the Polish-Czech Friendship Trail in Karkonosze National (The Krknose or Giant Mountains) are mountain ranges located in the north of the Czech Republic and the south-west of Poland. The Karkonosze are a unique example of the alpine landscape in the area and have been a nature reserve since 1933.
