All this goes to showthat the New Mexicans are hustlers, andthat when they go after a proposition theygo after it to win. A pull, a long pull, anda pull all together, counts for bee-keepingas for any thing else.—Ed.] FULL SHEETS VS. STARTERSDATION. OF FOUN- The Melted-wax Plan for Fastening Foundationin Sections, BY LEO ELLIS GATELYS method of FASTENING FULL SHEETS OF FOUNDATION IN A WIDE FRAME OF FOUR SECTIONS. Not only is the foundation we use of ne-cessity pure beeswax, but in the process ofmanufacture it is freed from all dirt andsediment, becoming more refined than theaverage article. Beeswax itself will notwithstand the high temperature from a col-ony without sagging unless it is entirelyfreed from this dirt and sediment. In myopinion it is highly important that we em-phasize to consumers the fact that no otherwax has yet or probably ever will be foundwhich can be used as a substitute for thispurpose. It is impossible to estimate the actualvalue of foundation in comb-honey produc-tion, as so much depends upon the extentto which bees are naturally secreting wax;also on the volume of the honey-flow, extra amount of surplus usually secur-ed when full sheets are used, over and abovethat obtainable with small starters, I havefound to vary from 5 to 2b per cent.
