Ruthven Barracks, by the village of Kingussie in the Scottish Highlands, are the best preserved of the four barracks built by Marshall Wade following the 1715 rising. Completed in 1721, they were later destroyed by Jacobite forces as they retreated following their defeat at the Battle of Culloden in 1746.
