But after afew months of energetic initiative came one ofthose inevitable, characteristic interruptionsto every enterprise of white men on the WestCoast. His associate^ was dangerously lowwith fever and had to be sent to G-aboon, andsoon after Mr. Good himself succumbed. Thephysician ordered them both out to sea.
