Statue of Queen Victoria pointing out to sea on Southend seafront with victorian terraced houses in the background. The statue sits on top of a square gothic style pedestal with inscribed panels. The Queen/Empress is seated and is pointing out to sea with her right hand, once snapped off in an act of vandalism, the replacement has been criticised for being too large and masculine. It was during Queen Victoria's reign that Britain became an Empire
