Port-au-Prince. Satellite image of Port-au-Prince (centre, grey), the capital city of the Republic of Haiti. North is at top. Haiti is situated on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean. Hispaniola is divided into the Republic of Haiti to the west, and the Dominican Republic to the East. A major transition fault line (horizontal green line, centre) can be seen running through the mountains just south-west of the city.
