THE BRITISH ARMY IN NORWAY APRIL - JUNE 1940 - During bombardment of Narvik this Norwegian boy and girl set off from shore in a rowing boat; their mother, father and sister being shot dead by the Nazis while trying to get in the boat, and made for HMS CAIRO, the girl bailing frantically. She collapsed on reaching side, both were brought aboard to safety of British custody. Girl had a bullet graze on thigh, boy untouched
