Eckley Miners village is a museum depicting a typical company mining town in the anthracite coal region of Pennsylvania during the 19th nineteenth century. Built by the coal company where the coal was mined and processed, it provided miners and their families with housing, stores, and churches, and gave the company greater control of lives of the miners.
