The Moscow Triumphal Gate is a triumphal arch, which was created in a combination of Romanesque, Empire and Renaissance styles. The gates were erected in Irkutsk in honor of the ten years since the ascension to the throne of Alexander the First. The arch was located at the intersection of the Lower Embankment of the Angara and Moskovsko-Laninskaya streets. For this reason, the gates are called Moscow Gates. The Triumphal Arch was laid on July 9, 1811. Under all the pylons there is one mortgage board. In one of them it was said about the participants in the process of laying the arch, in the other – about the reasons for the creation of this memorable composition. On September 15, 1813, the grand opening of the Arc de Triomphe took place. The Moscow Gate is a building in four tiers with a height of 19 meters and a width of about meters. In the uppermost part of the building there was a special room for tea parties, in its walls on the opening day a reception was held for Bishop Benjamin the First and civil governor of those times N. I. Treskin.
