Lucas Pustka waits for safety equipment being prepared by Krista McDermid before he crawls into a cave to monitor threatened and endangered troglobite species, Jan. 13, 2021 at JBSA-Camp Bullis, Texas. A troglobite is an animal that is specially adapted to living underground, spending their entire lives in caves. Camp Bullis has three troglobitic karst invertebrates, two beetles and a spider, along with cave crickets that are being monitored on a daily basis.
