Marching band in Geneva's Escalade festival, held every December

The 1602 Company of Geneva celebrates L'Escalade each year. These celebrations commemorate the defeat of an attack by the Duke of Savoy on the city of Geneva Switzerland on the night of 11th/12th December 1602. The celebrations are held on the closest weekend to those dates. Genevans dress up in costumes of the time and parade through the streets of the old city to the sound of pipes and drums.
