The Why of Veneer Troubles Do you know that— veneer, unless redried, contains more moistureafter it has passed through the glue spreaderthan ordinary air dried stock. V eneer with this content of moisture is almostsure to go wrong—sooner or later. Why notmake sure that your plywood when glued up, isa.} dry or dryer than the air—thus insuring your-self against trouble and perhaps loss? A Perrin Veneer Re-Drier will safeguard operation is simple. The veneer is insertedbetween steam heated hot plates which extractthe moisture from the wood fibres—from thecentre first—and then from the surfaces. Theopening and closing of the plates—known as thebreathing movement—expels the excess mois- ture from the surface as it is drawn from thecentre, allowing the shrinkage to take placenaturally and without checking.
