When they next met the matter was appeared that Mr. Ames had paid his respects to a portraitof Mr. Stebbins, having taken it for the real living person. The building on the northeast corner of Main and Ferrystreets formerly stood on the southwest corner of Mainstreet and Ferry lane, and was occupied by Dr. CharlesPynchon as an office and apothecary shop. Zebina Steb-bins, who lived on the northwest corner of Main street andFerry lane, offered to lease Samuel Lyman the spot ofground on which the building now stands, to have itremoved there, as it obstructed his view. The following is a copy of the lease for 999 years, asrecorded in the office of the Hampden County Register ofdeeds, Book 28, page 330:— This indenture made the 23d day of November,
