All Hallows. Ardeley, Hertfordshire, was built in 1917. It was built by Mr Carter who lent it to the Sisters of the Community of St Andrew to use as a rest house. The sisters wished to be a useful part the community, and helped here until leaving in 1942. The words “Caritas”, “AD XTI 1917”, “VRGET NOS” can be seen on a whitewashed wall.
