Huntington, will be built by the PacificElectric Railway Company to relieve car congestion on MainStreet. According to the companys engineers, another im-portant reason forabuilding the elevated tracks is the desire tosave all the time possible in the interurban service. All thelands necessary for carrying out the project have been ac-quired and no time will be lost in putting the plans into effect. I Main St. J I. Street OF PROPOSED ELEVATED TRACKS FOR LOS ANGELES It is proposed that the new system shall be in operation in littlemore than a year. The map indicates that the elevated trackswill begin at Ninth Street and run in a northerly directionalong Santee Street to a point, and thence westerly into thegreat Pacific Electric Depot building through its entrance onLos Angeles Street. The installation of such a system will re-move from Main Street all the interurban traffic of the PacificElectric Railway Company to San Pedro, Long Beach, Ala-mitos Bay, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Whittier andSanta Ana. ♦♦* In the annual report of the Capital Traction Company, ofWashington, were given some interesting statistics relative todie character of the accidents to people in which the companysrolling stock figured during the year just past.
