The 450m2 central dome with world famous murals in the upscale shopping mall Galerias Pacifico in Buenos Aires Argentina

Shopping mall and tourist attraction Galerias Pacifico 737 Calle Florida between Avenida Cordoba and Viamonte in the central shopping district of Buenos Aires Argentina. Architects: Francisco Seeber and Emilio Bunge - 1889. In 1989 the building was declared a National Historical Monument. Later it was delivered to Galerias Pacifico S A and on May 18 1992 the Shopping and Cultural Center was opened. Even more impressive than the top brand stores and boutiques inside are the vaulted ceilings painted in 1945 by five great muralists: Antonio Bernini, Juan Carlos Castangino, Manuel Colmiero, Lino Spilimbergo and Demetrio Urruchúa. The paintings cover most of the 450m2 central dome. Their works comprise diverse themes achieving an unmatched cohesion of shapes and colors. The murals were restored in 1978 under Antonio Berni's direction and again in 1991 by an Argentine-Mexican group.
