The tower house of Wildeck castle is visible at top of it’s hillside, where a lot of vineyards are. That’s not wondering as it is the part of „Staatliche Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt für Wein- und Obstbau Weinsberg“ (English: State Education and Research Institute for Viticulture and Pomology Weinsberg). It is a training and research institute for whine and fruit growing. It was founded as the Royal School of Viticulture Institute in 1868 by Immanuel Dornfeld. This place was very important for the development of the types of grape Samtrot and Dornfelder.
