Organizations of the agricultural sector have mobilized this Wednesday in front of the Ministry of Agriculture to demand significant improvements in their field "in the face of the high costs for production" that they currently suffer, among other problems. Before the headquarters of the department headed by Luis Planas, Asaja, UPA Andalucía and COAG, among others, have made a series of demands in the face of the difficult situation that workers are currently going through. Especially due to the high price of the production chain, an issue that later translates, as they have denounced, into a reduction in benefits for them and an increase in the cost of the product that consumers end up paying. The members of the COAG collective have insisted that they are not asking to increase the price to consumers with their demands. "There is enough margin along the chain so that the consumer is not betrayed and so that farmers get a fair price, which is what we are ultimately demanding to be able to live with a decent income," he detailed, going on to expose some of these demands, such as a special agricultural tariff for electricity in farm production, in irrigation communities and in handling plants. The agricultural sector also demand the reduction of agricultural VAT for all inputs in production and 10% for all, including agricultural services. In the same way, they ask for a compensatory VAT of 12% to 14% for farmers in objective estimation, as well as tax measures for the deduction of the invoice of fertilizers and non-depreciable plastics and for the increase in the percentage of difficult justification in direct estimation. And they request a revision of prices, to adjust them from the outset to the current cost of European production, and preferential agreements with third countries that imply a control of imports and the payment of tariffs.
