Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro, addresses a formation of Marines at Ilha do Governador, Rio de Janeiro, on the official opening day of exercise UNITAS LXIII, Sept. 8, 2022. The SECNAV discussed the importance of their role in exercise UNITAS. For the last 63 years, UNITAS has developed and sustained relationships that improve the capacity of our reemerging and enduring maritime partners to achieve common objectives. Additionally, the military-to-military exchanges foster friendly, mutual cooperation and understanding among participating navies and marine corps.
