Italian batteries opened a sudden fire in strong Austrianparties in the Galmarara and Seren valleys and dispersed batteries carried out effective concentration fire alongtheir sector of the front. British patrols, having forded thePiave, raided the Austrian advanced trenches. During the next few days aerial activity became especiallymarked. Austrian aviation grounds were bombed successfullyby British and Italian squadrons. Austrian airplanes, too, weremore active.
