ARTICLE T. This Diocese as established by the Sixty-seventh Con-vention of the Diocese of North Carolina, in May, 1883,at Charlotte, embracing all that portion of the territoryof the State of North Carolina, which includes thecounties of Hertford, Bertie, Martin, Pitt, Greene,Wayne, Sampson, Cumberland, and Robeson, and allthe counties lying between these counties and theAtlantic Ocean, shall be known as the Diocese of EastCarolina. ARTICLE II. The Church in this Diocese accedes to the Constitutionof that branch of the Holy Catholic Church known as theProtestant Episcopal Church in the United States ofAmerica, and recognizes the authority of the GeneralConvention thereof. ARTICLE III. Section 1. There shall be an Annual Council tomeet within the Diocese
