Lanyon Quoit, near Madron, West Penwith, Cornwall, UK with Ding Dong tin mine on the horizon

Lanyon Quoit, as seen today, is not as it was, when it was constructed in ancient times. The orignal collapsed in 1815, probably due to excavations on the site and was reconstructed some nine years later, without one of the original uprights. The capstone measures x and weights tons. Originally it would have been partially covered revealing only the capstone and the front portal stone.
